AAUW Recognizes Conejo Conexiomes Graduate, Kelvin Hau

Conejo Conexiones

This project is co-sponsored by our branch of the AAUW and CLUE VC (Clergy and Laity United for Economic Justice of Ventura County). Although we have been offering this exciting opportunity for the last two years, we have something new this year – our Mission Statement below.

Conejo Conexiones supports underserved high school students of the Conejo Valley, including programs that foster connection, empowerment, and leadership for academic and personal growth.

We provide programs and activities at least twice a month for high school students from Thousand Oaks, Westlake, and Newbury High Schools, including transportation and refreshments in addition to the sessions and activities.

Programs for the first semester this year will include: orientation and connection activities for students from the three schools, leadership training, college and job application skills, Know Your Rights training by a local immigration lawyer, stress reduction activities, methods for making good career choices, sexual harassment prevention and relationship skills, and a bowling field trip.

If you would like to volunteer your time in support of this valuable and fulfilling opportunity, please contact Betty Stapleford via phone or email.
